HOW THE PORTRAIT PROCESS WORKS

The information below explains the clients portrait process.

Please read it carefully. If you have any questions, I’m happy to help at any stage.

1. PHONE CONSULTATION Our journey begins with a phone consultation, where we’ll discuss your vision for the portraits. Together, we’ll explore how you wish to look and feel, your desired colour palette, and hair and makeup options. We'll also go over sizes and layouts that compliment your lifestyle or home.

2. THE PORTRAIT SHOOT On the day of the shoot, you'll enjoy a professional makeup and hairstyling session, adding that extra touch of pampering. Shoot times may vary based on the subjects and concepts, but our aim is to provide you with a diverse selection of images that capture your unique essence.

3. VIEWING AND ORDERING SESSION The exciting part! We've been quietly working behind the scenes to prepare for your viewing. Approximately two weeks after your session, you'll return to view your portraits in digital form. Together, we'll discuss sizes and product options from our menu guide, ensuring you only select what you truly love.

Clarifying Products and Services

In professional photography, creative work (labour) is priced separately from products - images, prints, and products outside of the creative scope and physical labour.

Services are the intangible skills and expertise provided—such as photography, editing, and consultations. They involve time, effort, and skill but do not result in physical items.

Products are the physical items you order—prints, albums, digital images, etc.—that you receive separately and can see, touch and store.

Similar to other service based businesses ie. consultant, hairdresser, makeup artist - Photographers work, time and expertise are separate from the physical products you choose to purchase.

Artists' Work Pay Equity—ensures fair compensation for time, business costs, creative talent and their results.

ALL prints, products and images are made to order.
